Lingering concerns about our current plans continue to block our progress. The unflappable Capricorn Moon blesses us with solid footing, assuring success when climbing the steepest mountains. But hard lunar aspects to unrelenting Pluto, overbearing Jupiter and impatient Uranus can make our journey one of trials and tribulations today. Thankfully, the Moon's shift into futuristic Aquarius at 10:28 pm EDT releases us from conventional restraints.

Your life can feel like a teeter-totter when constant ups and downs become a normal feature. Although so much change keeps things interesting, sometimes you want to get off the ride and feel the solid earth beneath your feet. The traditional Capricorn Moon moves through your 4th House of Roots, urging you to lean on family or close friends for emotional support now. Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz said, "There's no place like home."

It was amazing to go to sleep at 2:00 am and wake up at about 10:00 am. I didn’t even wake up for the nightly pest attack. As a result, I have little spots all up and down my arms that were not covered up by the thick quilt. That will teach me to clean up the bedroom before I lay down to sleep. I hate those tiny little pests that crawl out from the livingroom couch to climb up the legs of the bed.

We should get home treated for the little pests that have given us trouble from various sources over the past four years. Once they invade, it seems that they cannot ever be completely eradicated. And, the cure is worse than the trouble they cause when I can almost keep the place clean with Resolve. It takes more than just resolve to keep up with the cleaning of the carpets, couch, and bed. I know it is a common plague of humanity that has gone on for centuries.

Who knows when the first little bug evolved ages ago. The fact that they are so simple and have the same genetic genes means that they have a single mother who was so prolific at one time. They can take mass and matter from one bug to heal another damaged bug. They evolved to be able to be crushed and still survive as long as the brain is intact. They are worse than a Timex that takes a beating and still keeps on ticking.

Waking up after a full night’s sleep led to an amazing time after my daily bath. All of the world’s troubles were forgotten for a few hours of play time. Can you imagine what two disabled seniors would do when the two kids are off on their daily errands. I certainly enjoyed myself by not being interrupted. Making loud noises might cause distractions. I don’t usually make loud noises at the best of times as a personal preference anyways.

I confess that I have the vice of smoking king sized regular or red Number Seven cigarettes. The weather which today is about -7 C with a wind chill of -18 C. It is far too cold to go out onto the balcony to smoke so I go out into the inside stairwell where it is room temperature with no wind. It has been quiet and peaceful enough for me to enjoy smoking and my personal thoughts. I have been undisturbed by anyone for the past six months that I have been smoking in the stairwell.

Today I have been out only four times to have a smoke in the stairwell. The fifth time was highlighted by something unusual. During the past six months I haven’t seen a soul in either the stairwell or the hallway to our door. I began to hear the steps of someone coming down the stairwell from about the fifteenth floor. I didn’t think anything of it as I was just finishing my smoke. I put my cigarette butt out in the top of my cigarette pack and then put the cigarette pack into my kimono pocket. Yes, I was only wearing my kimono and slippers when the six foot tall, 200 lb, uniformed security woman came pounding down behind me. Oops!

I was sitting on the second step of the lower half set of stairs in the stairwell. The big security woman stepped past me and stopped half way across the landing to the door leading to the hallway. She turned and asked me if I was alright. I smiled and said that I was just having a timeout. I am a redhead with a temper. So, I was merely cooling off by having a quiet time in the stairwell. She looked at me for a moment before saying that she understood about redheads. Then she turned back to the door, opened it and disappeared in a hurry.

I slowly got up from the step and went to the door. I opened it and peeked into the hallway. The security woman was already at the far end of the long hallway opening up the door at that end. I quietly stepped along on the hallway carpet in my grey felt slippers, pushed the door quietly open just enough for me to slip past and just as quietly closed and locked the metal door.

There is a city bylaw about smoking inside buildings. A ticket for $250.00 fine can be issued to anyone caught smoking in public areas such as lobby, hallway, stairwell, or underground parking, and other areas where smoking is prohibited by the management.

Essentially, I was lucky to have escaped getting caught smoking in the stairwell where it is prohibited. I hadn’t appeared to have been smoking as there wasn’t a cloud of smoke or cigarette in evidence. Perhaps there might have been the smell of smoke rising up the stairwell, but no sign of evidence of me smoking.
